Proxies

Best residential proxies for web scraping in 2026

A stealth browser only gets you halfway. Your IP is the other half, and it's the half that gets most scrapers blocked. Here's how to pick a proxy pool without lighting money on fire.

You can spoof a perfect browser fingerprint and still get blocked in one request, because the site looked at your IP first. That's the thing people underrate. A clean IP with a mediocre browser beats a flawless browser on a burned datacenter IP almost every time.

So before you spend a weekend tuning Camoufox, get the IP layer right.

Residential vs datacenter vs mobile

There are really three kinds of proxy you'll be choosing between, and they're not interchangeable.

Datacenter proxies are cheap and fast. They come from cloud hosting ranges, which anti-bot vendors know by heart, so on any protected site they get flagged fast. Great for sites that don't care who you are. Useless against Cloudflare or DataDome.

Residential proxies are real IPs assigned by ISPs to home connections. To the target, your traffic looks like a person on Comcast or Deutsche Telekom, because on paper it is. This is the default choice for scraping anything with real defenses. It costs more, usually billed per gigabyte.

Mobile proxies route through cellular networks. Because carriers share one IP across many real users, sites are very reluctant to block them, which makes mobile the strongest and the priciest option. Save it for the nastiest targets.

Rotating vs sticky sessions

Two ways to use a residential pool, and picking wrong quietly wrecks your success rate.

Rotating gives you a fresh IP on every request. Perfect for spraying lots of independent page fetches, like scraping a thousand product pages that don't know or care about each other.

Sticky sessions hold the same IP for a few minutes. You want this the moment state matters: logging in, adding to a cart, walking through a multi-step flow. Rotate your IP mid-login and the site sees your "session" teleport across the country between clicks, which is exactly the kind of thing that trips a block.

Rule of thumb: independent pages, rotate. Anything with a login or a cart, go sticky.
